We're thrilled to be adding thousands of new online information resources!  We'll be highlighting a few each month. You will see an improvement in the amount of full-text material you're able to access online.

Growing Online Plant Journal Collection

We've added over 200 new online books and journals in botany and plant sciences!

Seed Science and Technology focuses on seed quality and physiology as related to seed production, harvest, processing, sampling, storage, distribution, and testing.

Botany and Plant Sciences Collection from JSTOR includes archival online content from both journals and books.

The easiest way to access and search all of these resources—plus more we'll be highlighting over the next few months—is to visit Search Everything.

You do need to be onsite for immediate full-text access (Staff & Volunteers). Please contact the library to inquire about offsite access options.

The Journal of Environmental Education

Looking for scholarly environmental and sustainability education articles? You can now access The Journal of Environmental Education online.

Applied Environmental Education and Communication is another great journal in this area, and also a fairly new addition to our collection (2016).

(NEW) Fact Sheet Facts

Several SDZG Library Animal Fact Sheets have been updated and transferred into the NEW FORMAT!  Click here or on Animal Fact Sheets, SDZG Library website. From Alligator Lizards to Zebras, there's sure to be an animal of interest in this long list. When using a fact sheet in the new format, be sure to explore across the tabs.

You can also use the Table of Contents or Search to explore each guide.

Giraffes : Africa's Gentle Giants

PBS television (Nature series), 2016

Dr. Julian Fennessy has spent the last 20 years of his life studying giraffes. Now he's starting to reveal their secrets—the most important being that they are disappearing. The giraffe population in Africa is down by 40 percent in just two decades. In collaboration with a determined Ugandan Wildlife Authority team, Fennessy wants to round up 20 of the world's rarest giraffes to get them to safety through the wild heart of Uganda, which means embarking on a special voyage across the mighty Nile River. The stakes are high in this urgent and daring mission against poachers affiliated with organized crime, but if successful, the reward will be a brighter future for an animal we have somehow overlooked. —Publisher.
