The Auburn Bicycle Committee meets on the last Tuesday of every other month (beginning January) at 7:00 p.m. at the Auburn Public Library. All meetings are open to the public so come see what we're all about.
This edition's Featured Weekly Ride is the Second Sunday Adventure. Okay, this one is monthly, not weekly, but it still qualifies.
Join fellow cyclists on the second Sunday of every month as they travel to nearby destinations for a day of adventure on bikes. Rides typically include a unique or scenic ride and some local cuisine. February's destination is the Fall Line Trace in Columbus Georgia. March will feature the Stone Mountain Trail and April will feature the Opelika Azalea and Dogwood Trail.
Check out their website or Email Kirk to be included on the monthly ride announcements.
Do you love riding your bike? Do you want more people to love it too? Then consider becoming a part of the Auburn Bicycle Committee. The Committee works with Auburn City staff to serve as the voice of the local cycling community while volunteering on projects to promote and encouraging cycling. The committee recently launched a membership drive and is looking for enthusiastic cyclists to help launch some new projects and initiatives. And the best news is that they can be accomplished outside of the bimonthly meetings. Take a look at the volunteer list and consider fulfilling your civic endeavors by helping to advance cycling in our community. If you have any questions about any projects, contact Brandy Ezelle. Even better, let us know about YOUR ideas and let’s see if we can make them happen too!

WEEKLY RIDES Whether you are new to cycling, racing the wind, or just want a social ride, Auburn has you covered.
Have you heard about the new high school mountain biking league, NICA?
The league was new to Alabama last year but thanks to all the great mountain biking at Chewacla State Park, this area had enough students to host two teams; the Auburn team and the Lee County Composite team. Both teams did a fantastic job in their first season taking home several trophies. The 2016 season is getting underway. If you know a boy or girl in grades 6 through 12 that would be interested, contact Adam Crews.
