PATIENT NEWS
Baby Season Is Upon Us!!!

It's that time of year again - Chintimini Wildlife Center is about to get flooded with tiny, orphaned birds and mammals. Already in March we rescued a Great Horned Owl nestling, newborn Cottontails and Western Gray Squirrels, and orphaned Mallard ducklings. See photos and read more about these young wildlife patients.

This is only the beginning, though. Soon our incubators will be filled with hungry baby birds who require feeding every 20 minutes. If you would like to contribute to the care of these tiny creatures, make a donation to our Orphaned Animal Nursery Fund.
Garden Tip: Cottontail rabbits nest on many residential lawns. Nests appear as depressions lined with grass and fur. Put a hamper over the nest to protect newborns while mowing.
Bobcat Update

Thanks to everyone who donated to our Bobcat Recovery Fund! We were able to use the funds to cover the bobcat’s post-surgery follow-up examination. She has been putting weight on her leg and otherwise acting like a normal feisty bobcat. But before we could move her to an outdoor enclosure at our facility, Jennifer J. Warnock, DVM, PhD at OSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, wanted to make sure she was healing well enough to make the transition. Read more about how her examination went. If you would like to contribute to her continued care, please make a donation to the Bobcat Recovery Fund

COMMUNITY SAFETY
Our 100th patient suffered from a very common and avoidable injury. Can you guess what predator is responsible for killing up to 4 billion native birds every year in the U.S.? Okay, we'll tell you - it's house cats! What can you do to prevent cat attacks and keep your feline buddies happy? Find out on our blog
