"10th Year Anniversary!"

"Host of the 2016 IGLFA World Championship XXII"
The Netrippers FC are Portland's only soccer club for LGBTQ players who seek a safe and secure location for gay football. Located in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, the Netrippers FC were established in 2006 by a only a handful of members and one team in the Portland Metro League. They were energized and determined to organize a gay soccer club which was desperately lacking within their growing community. Since inception here are some of their major accomplishments:
  • 2006: Founded & Established- Netrippers FC
  • 2008: Created the current Netrippers Friendly Co-Ed Tournament in Portland.
  • 2013: Participated in first international tournament- World Outgames in Antwerp, Belgium.
  • 2015:  Won the rights to host the 2016 IGLFA World Championship XXII
  • 2016:  Over 150 members, 12 teams including 3 women's, 5 men's and 4 co-ed.
Off the field since 2006, the Netrippers have created strong relationships within the community including several non-profit organizations. For the past three years, they have conducted soccer clinics with Camp Starlight an organization that provides an amazing summer camp experience for youth affected by HIV/AIDS. In addition to that work, the Netrippers have also been providing volunteer coaches to the Portland Community Football Club, an organization that provides under-served youth an opportunity to train with high-level trainers or experienced players at an affordable cost.

Ten years later after accomplishing many achievements on the pitch and throughout their community the Netrippers FC will be the proud hosts of the 2016 IGLFA World Championship XXII next summer in Portland, Oregon-USA.

The Netrippers can be found here. (Website)

A Tribute to Mr. Bob Whitmore
Mr. Bob Whitmore, Co-Founder- NY Ramblers & IGLFA

Last year, the IGLFA Family and the New York Ramblers reluctantly said goodbye to one of its Founders and Hall of Famer; The Legendary Mr. Bob Whitmore! In 1980, Bob along with a few gay New Yorkers' answered a local advertisement in the paper to play soccer in the iconic Central Park. What they did not realize or expect was to create the "first" international LGBT football club in the world; The New York Ramblers! Twelve years later (1992) as part of the Steering Committee at the 1st Annual IGLFA World Championship, Bob and several individuals took it upon themselves to coordinate, organize and create a global football association capable of fostering tolerance, acceptance and love for all LGBT athletes interested in playing organized football around the world. What he created along with several individuals was the International Gay & Lesbian Football Association known as the "IGLFA." Over 20 years later the IGLFA has over 50 members and is one of the leading LGBT Associations throughout the globe. We will forever be grateful for his courage, sacrifice and service to the entire LGBT football community. Thank you Bob and goodbye our dear friend!
