The CGR participated in a science fair organized by the Faculty of Science, Universidad de Chile at the Inés de Suarez Park in Santiago. This activity was held together with the visit by 9 Nobel Lureates (including Porf. Gurdon) and two Fields medal winners. See more images here.

The CGR at the Human Genome Editing Summit:

Dr David Baltimore opens the Summit.
The CGR Director, as the sole Chilean representative, attended the Human Genome Editing Summit convened by the National Academies of Sciences (NAS, U.S.A.), the Royal Society and the Chinese Academy of Science. The Summit was held at NAS in Washington from Dec 1 to 3. A declaration proposing a moratorium on gene editing in the human germ line was proposed. See more images here.

The CGR obtains a new FONDEQUIP Grant:

Dr. Rodrigo Gutiérrez has obtained a FONDEQUIP grant entitled:“Science Cloud: Plataforma para trabajo colaborativo interdisciplinario”. The funds will allow the acquisition of a next generation computing platform for data storage, a badly needed resource at the CGR.
