From the Executive Director's Desk

Many of you may have seen the recent piece on Huffington Post about temporary workers at an Amazon facility in Virginia. Unfortunately, stories like this are all too common these days. This Thursday, November 12, WEC is partnering with New Labor to screen the film "A Day's Work" which showcases another tragedy and addresses some of the issues surrounding the temporary worker phenomenon. The Chicago Tribune called it a smartly crafted documentary and the review went on, "the film is neither hectoring nor medicinal, not overly earnest or manipulative — a rarity in this genre — as it makes the case that temp workers are increasingly treated like disposable machine parts."

Please join us Thursday for a screening, followed by discussion with the film's executive producer!
