The Construction Technology students have been busy working on a 40x20 pole barn.  This past week they finished setting the trusses for the structure and will begin on the roofing and siding.
Congratulations to the Hoosier Hills Childcare Center for achieving Level 3 status through Paths to Quality.  The center uses a planned curriculum to guide students through development and prepare them for kindergarten.
Congratulations to the Automotive Technology program for winning the Ivy Tech Engine Build Competition.  The students built a motor from all stock parts and achieved 482 horsepower during testing at the competition.

This is the second year that the competition has been held and Hoosier Hills Career Center has won both of the competitions.  The students pride themselves on building an award-winning engine.
Programs are participating in the Employability Skills curriculum throughout the year.  Students are taught various lessons including: communication, teamwork, integrity, ethics, time management, resume building, employer panels, mock interviews, and more.
