County Road Association’s 2017 annual Highway Conference coming to the Lansing Center March 14-16

LANSING, MI – Representatives from most of Michigan’s 83 county road agencies will meet at the Lansing Center March 14-16 for the County Road Association of Michigan’s (CRA) 2017 Highway Conference. The 2017 conference celebrates 100 years of CRA and its member organizations – the 83 Michigan county road agencies responsible for Michigan’s local transportation system, including the right-of-way.
Road agencies will talk about:
  • A new local road warranty program;
  • Guiding right-of-way development with increasing infrastructure demands;
  • Initiatives such as the new local Federal Fund Exchange Program;
  • Public-private partnerships and more!
On Tuesday, March 14 from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, March 15 from 9 a.m. – noon, the conference will include the CRA Road Show featuring heavy equipment, technology information services and other products used by road agencies.

The 83 members of the County Road Association of Michigan represent the unified voice for a safe and efficient county transportation infrastructure system in Michigan, including appropriate stewardship of the public’s right-of-way in rural and urban Michigan.  Collectively, Michigan’s county road agencies manage 75 percent of all roads in the state, including 90,000 miles of roads and 5,700 bridges.  County road agencies also maintain the state’s highway system in 64 counties.  Michigan has the nation’s fourth-largest local road system.
