JULY EVENTS--Uptown, Downtown, it's our Town!


July 14, Kick off to the Port Townsend Main Street's Concerts on the Dock series featuring Kevin Mason and the PT All Stars! Seating opens at 4:30, Music from 5-7:30 pm at Pope Marine Plaza! Vendors will include Daily Bird Pottery, Magical Henna and James Jackson Massage, Velvet Revolution Photo BoothMo-Chilli BBQ, coffee from Java Gypsy and Popsicle by PT Pops! Bring a chair or blanket and get ready to Rock the Dock with us every Thursday through Sept. 1st! Seating opens at 4:30; Music from 5-7:30 pm. We couldn't do it without our generous series sponsors--THANK YOU Homer Smith Insurance, City of Port Townsend, Kitsap Credit Union, Uptown Pub & Grill, PT Fudge Co., The CoLab, KPTZ 91.9 FM and the Peninsula Daily News.

July 14-23, Key City Public Theatre presents Distracted, the first teen production of their new Young Artists’ Initiative. Co-directed by local teens Noah Phillips and Ciel Pope, featuring an all student cast and crew, with mentorship by Key City’s professional theater artists.

July 15 - Port Townsend Main Street "LENT" Microloan Fund Low Interest Loan Program deadline. This microloan fund offers a tool for historic district businesses to offset financial impacts from emergency situations, though business development proposals will be considered. July 15, 22 & 29Free Fridays at the Fort, Centrum’s popular free lunchtime concert and reading series takes place on the lawn of the Nora Porter Commons at Fort Worden State Park from 12-1 pm.
  
July 16-17, Olympic Music Festival is proud to present the 2016 summer season in partnership with Centrum at Fort Worden State Park.

July 16, Kiwanis Christmas in July concert featuring Freddy Pink, a dance and auction to benefit Toys for Tots and Christmas for children of East Jefferson County. There's a prize for the ugliest Hawaiian shirt!

July 16, Northwind Arts Center goes to Hawaii fundraiser featuring Hawaiian entertainment. Reservations are encouraged because seating is limited to 65. E-mail hawaii@northwindarts.org or call (360) 531-3971 to reserve seats.

July 17-24, Centrum Port Townsend Writers' Conference, a rich and diverse gathering of prose writers and poets read from their work.
 
July 20, Through The Wall, a collaborative project of The Boiler Room and their neighbor, Northwind Arts Center, which provides visual art instruction from local artists. Drawing the Figure and Character creation from 5:30 - 7 pm at The Boiler Room, 711 Water Street.
 
July 21, Port Townsend Main Street's Concert on the Dock featuring Uncle Funk and the Dope 6! Our main food selection for this week will be Paella House, cooking up delicious paella for us at this concert, come enjoy an evening of great food, music and friends!

July 24-31,
Centrum Jazz Port Townsend, week long workshop at Jazz Port Townsend is the perfect opportunity to meet other excellent musicians, soak up a week of jazz in a seaside paradise, and leave as a better musician. 

July 28, Port Townsend Main Street's Concert on the Dock featuring Locust Street Taxi! Mo-Chilli BBQ will be back this week serving up slow cooked, mouth watering Texas style BBQ, bring your appetite and join us for a fun evening!

NEWS AROUND THE BLOCK

Please welcome Washington Main Street Managers to Port Townsend, they will be attending a Summer Leadership Meeting July 21-22. There will be tours, training sessions, and Concerts on the Dock!

Port Townsend School of the Arts has some new offerings for the summer. Paint Your Palate, Friday Drop-in Painting Classes with Complementary Food & Wine and a Saturday Family Friendly Art Workshop! Just fun, no experience necessary.

Kitsap Bank is offering $20,000 through its edg3 FUND small business competition to help entrepreneurs dedicated to growing our local community economically, socially and environmentally. The application period for our 3rd annual competition is now open! Applications will be accepted through July 29 at 5 pm.
