NOVEMBER EVENTS--Uptown, Downtown, it's our Town!

Nov. 1, Leif Whittaker book launch "My Old Man and The Mountain." Join Leif Whittaker and Jim Whittaker at the Northwest Maritime Center for an evening of stories and incredible photographs from the world’s highest peaks. 

Nov. 3, Northwest Maritime Center Speaker Series featuring Howard Garrett talking about the Orca Network. 

Nov. 4, Jefferson County Historical Society
First Friday Lecture featuring Rod Freeman, talking about the Whale, Grizzly Bear Press, and the cultural community of Port Townsend in the 1970s.

Nov. 5, Key City Public Theatre presents The Return of Magic Land.

Nov. 5, Free Saturday in the Jefferson Museum of Art & History, Art Walk, and PT Shorts.

Nov. 5-6, Jeffco Holiday Craft Fair at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds

Nov. 5-6, Port Townsend Woodworkers Show
the annual exhibition of local woodworkers. Free to the public at the American Legion Hall.

Nov. 6, Port Townsend Film Festival, Rose Theater and Jefferson County Chamber present "BY US, We Are The Solution" a FREE Film at the Rose Theatre, 11:30 am. Featuring PT neighbors, business owners, and community builders. First come, first served. 

Nov. 11, PT Summer Band will play a free public concert for Veterans Day at the American Legion Hall.

Nov. 11-13, Olympic Peninsula Harvest Wine Tour, sip and savor the flavors of fall, enjoy seasonal activities and marvel at nature’s vibrant palate.
Nov. 19, Port Townsend's second annual Cranksgiving, a food drive on two wheels! Part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt. Hosted by The ReCyclery, benefiting The Boiler Room's Thanksgiving Day Meal. Last year The Boiler Room served over 100 meals on Thanksgiving, and there was enough to go around thanks to Cranks! The Boiler Room is also one of the only businesses open downtown on Thanksgiving, providing a warm, dry space for any and all.

Nov. 19, Turkey Trot 5K and Kids' Dash on the Larry Scott Trail, benefiting
Jumping Mouse Children's Center to help keep their services accessible to all children in need.

Nov. 24, Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy Thanksgiving at the Fort, buffet style dinner at the Commons from 11 am – 3 pm and turkey dinner specials at Taps from 4 pm – 8 pm.

Nov. 25, Black Friday is the kick off for Main Street's “Look Here First for Family Fun and Holiday Memories” campaign. Port Townsend has gifts covered–there are thousands of great gifts available right here in our historic seaport and arts community. “Look Here First” for one-of-a-kind, imaginative gift ideas. When you buy locally, it gives back to Port Townsend’s local economy, which is a gift to our community. Individually-owned businesses offer the personal touch and are a welcome contrast to anonymous malls or online buying. Gifts purchased from destination stores, Port Townsend restaurant gift certificates, movie passes, theatre tickets, and local artwork are examples of thoughtful gifts loved ones will remember long after the holidays.

Nov. 25-26, PT Arts Guild Holiday Craft Show, at the Port Townsend Community Center (620 Tyler St. in Uptown) from 10 am to 5 pm both days. Come dive into the holiday shopping season with locally handmade arts and crafts! 

Nov. 26, Main Street's Merchant Open House and Small Business Saturday! Celebrate local businesses at this nation-wide event. See more at “About Small Business Saturday” Caroling in the streets with the Wild Rose Chorale Uptown and Downtown from 2-4 pm, in-store treats, many shops open later til 7 pm. Have fun shopping and dining in town! “Look Here First” Merchant Holiday Window Contest winners announced.

Nov. 29, Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving. The Port Townsend Main Street Program is a 501c3 nonprofit, our mission is "Fostering economic vitality and preservation of place within our historic business districts…while maintaining our small town quality of life.” Please consider making a donation to help us continue our mission - thank you!


The Wine Seller will be Celebrating 34 Years in November! Congratulations Joe and all your wonderful staff! Help them celebrate on November 18th with their annual “THANKSGIVING WINE" tasting & ANNIVERSARY BASH! 

The Jefferson County Farmers Market continue in Uptown Port Townsend on Tyler Street each Saturday through December 17th. 


The Port Townsend Main Street Program will be sending out Board Election Ballots November 18 to current Main Street Members. The Board shall nominate a slate of candidates or may appoint a committee to do so. This slate, however, shall not be exclusive of any nominations made by the membership. Five or more members may nominate an individual for election by submission in writing of such nomination and affixing their signatures, submit that nomination to Main Street ten (10) days in advance of the date ballots are mailed.

PLEASE NOTE: TRANSPORTATION ALERT: Port Townsend-Coupeville ferry route to be closed Nov 5 & 6. Washington State Ferries is planning construction work at the Keystone Dock on the weekend of November 5-6, 2016. As a result, there will be no ferry service on the Port Townsend-Coupeville ferry route for those two days. Reservations for Monday, November 7, are also not available to allow for the possibility that construction could take longer than expected. The final decision regarding when the route will be reopened will be made by the WSF project team on Sunday afternoon, November 6. For questions, please contact your WSF media representatives.

The Port Townsend Main Street Program is pleased to offer the opportunity to put your state B&O tax dollars to work here in Port Townsend through the work of our Main Street Tax Incentive Program.
It's never too early to start thinking about next year! Put Your State B&O Taxes To Work Here In Port Townsend Through The 2017 Main Street Tax Incentive Program. 75% of your donation is returned to you via B&O tax credits in 2018. In addition, your entire contribution may qualify as a 501(c)(3) charitable deduction on your 2017 federal income tax return.

The Port Townsend Main Street Program can receive up to $133,333 in contributions. Approvals are given each year on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 12:01 am, January 1, 2017, made online through the Dept. of Revenue’s (DOR) website. DOR’s online portal will continue to accept tax credit contributions until the state cap of $1.5M in tax credits has been reached. And as in 2016, we do anticipate that the $1.5M tax credit cap will be met early in the 2017 year, so we encourage you to pledge early.
