March 2Sea Gypsies: The Far Side of the World, with director Nico Edwards at Wheeler Theater, Fort Worden, 7 pm.

March 2-12, Key City Public Theatre Playfest, a theater lover’s feast offering 10 plays in two weekends including 6 one-act plays by local writers, and three full-length plays by regional and national playwrights. Performances, workshops, interactive events, parties, and more!

March 3, Jefferson County Historical Society First Friday Lecture will feature Humanities Washington speaker Paula Becker and the court cases involving Egg and I author Betty MacDonald. 

March 4, 2nd Annual Port Townsend Record Show at the American Legion Hall from 11 am - 5 pm. Buy/Sell/Trade quality vinyl, CDs, posters and other memorabilia. 

March 4, Port Townsend Library Used Book Sale at the Uptown Community Center from 9 am - 2 pm. 

March 4, Art Walk - see an amazing array of art, not only in our art galleries but in the restaurants, shops and hotels.

March 4PT Shorts featuring Jim Lynch, excerpts from “Before the Wind,” PT’s 2017 Community Read at Northwind Arts Center, 708 Water St., 7:30 pm.

March 5, Jefferson County Chamber Leadership Awards Brunch at Fort Worden Commons with keynote speech from Evelyn Clark, the Corporate Storyteller.

March 8Sea Shanties Song Circle at the NW Maritime Center from 6-8 pm.

March 9, Northwind Arts Center Reading Series features Kate Peterson, Arlene Naganawa, and Lydia Swartz. Reading starts at 7 pm in Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water Street.

March 9, Meet the Distiller Night at The Old Whiskey Mill at 1038 Water St., 5-7 pm. Call 385-4422 for details or visit the link. Admiralty Distillers is featured.

March 11, She Tells Sea Tales an evening of sea stories told by female mariners in support of the Girls’ Boat Project, a program of the NW Maritime Center for girls aged 12-18. 

March 17, St. Patrick's Day, may you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! If you can't find it, check out Pane d'Amore in Uptown, they have Irish Soda Bread and that's just as good! Get in the spirit of the day at Wandering Angus Celtic Traders, 914 Water Street. You can find St. Paddy's specials at Sirens Pub, offering Corned Beef and Guinness Stew, Pasties, and their Famous Irish Cupcakes, Irish Beer, Cider, and Whiskey flights. Irish Music and door prizes. Don't forget to wear your green!
March 17, Friends of Fort Worden invite you to their Annual Meeting & Party from 5-8 pm at Fort Worden Commons. Featured speaker: Dr. Kathleen L. Wolf will discuss Putting Well-Being in its Place, How Deep Connections with Place and Nature Support Health.

March 18, Jefferson County Fair Association's 15th Annual Garage Sale & Flea Market at the Jefferson County fair grounds from 9 am - 4 pm. 

March 23, Northwest Maritime Center
Speaker Series, Caroline "Ace" Spragg will present Cruising in Tahiti, 5-7 pm.
March 31, The Port Townsend Main Street Spring HUD Loan applications are due at 5 pm. These funds can help property owners accomplish historic preservation goals and safety improvements in their buildings and is available to commercial buildings in Port Townsend’s Downtown and Uptown Commercial Historic Districts. With these funds, building owners have painted the exterior of their buildings, repaired roofs, fixed staircases, re-pointed brick facades, installed windows and improved the safety of their buildings. Join Conservatory Coastal Home, 639 Water St., this Art Walk (5/4), in welcoming a new shop to downtown... Bubble N Squeak, an Enchanting British Inspired Lifestyle Store located at 926 Water St! To celebrate they will be hosting, with Bubble N Squeak, a "pub crawl..." PT style.

Don Tiller has opened a new art gallery, located in Flagship Landing, 1015 Water Street. Stop by during Art Walk on March 4th and see the unveiling of the 2017 Port Townsend Film Festival Poster that he was commissioned to paint.

If you have not yet seen the stunning quilts in the “Quilting Memories” exhibit at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History, March 4 will be the last chance to see them during a First Saturday Art Walk (although the exhibit will be on display in the museum through March 12). The museum will be open for Art Walk 5:30-8:00.  The exhibit features 24 historic quilts with details of their fabrication and interesting commentary on their use.  

COMING APRIL 1-2, 2017 Victorian Heritage Festival
A wonderful weekend to celebrate all that is the best in the West Coast's favorite Victorian seaport. The theme is "Victorian Dreams." For one weekend, among the grand old buildings and croquet lawns, the 1890’s will live again! Organized by Olympic Peninsula Steam and produced by Swashbuckle Industries.

May - Celebrate Children's Art! Sign up for Art Wave, a colorful month-long exhibit of student art in the stores in May. The artwork is being created in the Port Townsend School District in grades K-12. The annual art exhibit is on display at businesses in Uptown and Downtown. Over 400 pieces of art are installed as part of this promotion. Sign up here.

2018 Water Street Enhancement Project.
