The birth of a new year brings time for reflection as well as new beginnings. It's a time to be thankful for how far we've come, and to look with joyful anticipation towards the future.
On behalf of the the Aardvark Roost Board of Directors, I would like to wish all the sponsors, members, patrons and supporters of the AOC Aardvark Roost Chapter a prosperous new year. Thank you for your dedicated support to the field of Electronic Warfare/Information Operations and the Association of Old Crows.
Thanks to you I am proud to announce that the Aardvark Roost received the "Distinguished Chapter of the Year
" award in the "2016 Small Chapter of the Year
" category of the Association of Old Crows at the 52nd Annual AOC International Symposium and Convention that was held in Washington, D.C. last November. We are humbled and privileged for the recognition received.
2017 will be a very busy year for the Chapter. We have two Little Crow half-day conferences planned. These conferences will again be hosted free of charge and we are looking forward to seeing you at these events.
Our first event will be on the 16th of March 2017
and be hosted at IMT in Simonstown
. The event will have a strong Maritime focus and provide an opportunity to industry and academia to enlighten us with their inputs and knowledge. Registration for this event will open soon!
Our second Little Crow half-day conference will be hosted by SAAB towards the middle of the year. The tentative date for the SAAB event is the 6th of June 2017 and will be confirmed closer to the event. Please keep an eye out in your inboxes and on our website for more information.
Our highlight for 2017 will be the EW South Africa 2017 Conference and Exhibition
hosted by the Aardvark Roost during 6-8 November 2017 at the CSIR ICC, Pretoria
. This year, the planning and coordination of this event will be handled in a true South African way and we have a very enthusiastic and capable team hard at work to ensure that the event is a success. More information on this event will be posted on our website as it becomes available.
Our chapter is very dependent on the support of our members and sponsors whom without it will be impossible to host these events. In light of this, we would like to invite you (in actual fact urge you) to send us inputs, ideas and requests as to what you would want to see or experience at these events. The events are for you, the Aardvark Roost members, and we would like to tailor it to provide you with a valuable experience. Please forward you inputs to email@example.com
Hope to see you at our next event!
