A board of directors has a fiduciary responsibility to the company. They can be liable for mistakes (accounting and otherwise) that a company makes. So it's tough and expensive to secure board directors. But advisory board members don't have fiduciary responsibility, and thus cannot be held liable. Hence their compensation (if any) is a fraction of what a board director receives.

Further, board directors have an obligation to the company first, and the CEO second. It's the opposite with advisors—the CEO/"advisee" comes first.
Which may be right for your organization? And how to set one up.

Cash is the most liquid of assets and it represents the lifeblood for growth and investment. In order to generate cash, we must efficiently and effectively manage the activities that provide cash. These activities include billing customers as quickly as possible, disbursing payments only when they come due, collecting cash on overdue accounts, and investing idle cash. Therefore, managing cash flow involves several objectives that we will outline in this 2-hour seminar.

Orientation is an event. Onboarding is a process.

It is important for every organization to implement a formal onboarding program that is closely aligned to its culture, employment brand, and ongoing business objectives. One of the most common onboarding mistakes is taking a cookie-cutter approach – one size does not fit all. A well-managed onboarding program begins the moment an offer is extended and ends when the new hire is classified as a fully-functioning employee.

Having a well-organized onboarding program also impacts the company’s bottom line in a positive way. A recent report by Aberdeen Group found that companies with a formal onboarding process had an employee retention rate of 86%, while companies without an onboarding process had an employee retention rate of only 56%.
