New Members, New Events and New Progress

It’s been another great month for the Press Club of Dallas, highlighted by our successful “Cowboys Kickoff” event at 3015 at Trinity Groves.
Nearly 200 journalists, public relations professionals and die-hard football fans turned out for the Sept. 7 preview of the Cowboys season. FOX 4 sports anchor Mike Doocy moderated a discussion among the Cowboys' radio team of Brad Sham, Babe Laufenberg and sideline reporter Kristi Scales.
As always, the Trinity Groves venue offered fantastic accommodations and delicious food. Our board is particularly proud of the $1,600 that we raised through a raffle for the mental health awareness campaign Okay to Say.
But that wasn’t it for us in the month of September.
As part of our new partnership with The Dallas Entrepreneur Center in the West End, we’re now sponsoring the “Startup Grind," a monthly conversation with notable entrepreneurs. We're kicking it off tonight with Press Club Board Member and NBC 5 reporter, Cory Smith, hosting a discussion with driversselect Founder and President, Steve Hall.
The DEC/Startup Grind partnership is just one more way that we are extending our reach and broadening our target membership. We hope you’ll consider checking out an upcoming Startup Grind at the DEC, which The Dallas Morning News has dubbed “a hub of Dallas’ startup scene.” The event is typically held on the last Tuesday of every month at 311 N. Market St. #200 in Dallas. For more details, visit
